HCBS-Compliant Social Recreation Services Supporting Communication, Community Inclusion, and Meaningful Participation Through Person-Centered Supports that Recognize Behavior as Communication.
We support individualized communication using approaches that are appropriate for each participant's needs and preferences.
Building Hope Through Meaningful Community Connections
Letters of Hope provides individualized one-to-one Personal Support Services that empower individuals with developmental disabilities to increase independence, strengthen community connections, and achieve their Individual Program Plan (IPP) goals.
Many nonspeaking individuals understand far more than they can physically express – not because of a lack of intelligence, but due to motor planning and coordination challenges. Presume competence. Support the body. Unlock the mind.
Supporting Participation Through Individualized Activities
At Letters of Hope, we believe every individual deserves opportunities to connect with others, explore personal interests, express preferences, and participate fully in community life.
Our services are designed around each participant’s strengths, goals, and interests. Through individualized recreational and enrichment activities, participants are supported in developing confidence, self-advocacy, social connections, and meaningful engagement in everyday life.
Communication supports, including letterboards, AAC systems, and other individualized tools, may be used when appropriate to support participation, choice-making, self-expression, and relationship development.
The HOPE Framework™
Our approach is grounded in the HOPE Framework™, which reflects our commitment to:
- Healthy Relationships
- Opportunities for Participation
- Personal Growth & Self-Advocacy
- Empowerment Through Meaningful Experiences
Why I Do This Work
My journey into supporting individuals with complex communication needs began with my son. For the first 20 years of his life, he was unable to reliably express his thoughts, preferences, and ideas. Witnessing his determination taught me that communication is about far more than spoken words—it requires patience, understanding, and a willingness to recognize that every behavior has meaning.
As our family discovered new ways to support his communication, I saw firsthand how having the right supports could open doors to greater independence, self-expression, and meaningful participation in everyday life. That experience transformed my perspective and inspired me to dedicate my work to empowering others through individualized, person-centered support.
Today, I bring both professional experience and the insight of a parent to every participant and family I serve. I believe every individual deserves to be heard, respected, and supported in pursuing their own goals, building meaningful relationships, and participating fully in their community.

testimonial
My daughter Cinthia began her journey with Rashmi in April 2025. Initially, I believed Cinthia did not know the English alphabet because she is non-verbal, but Rashmi reassured me otherwise—and proved it. I was amazed to see Cinthia answer comprehension questions after passages were read to her and even express her feelings during sessions. Rashmi’s calm, intuitive approach—using breathing techniques, music, sensory support, and breaks—helped Cinthia stay focused and regulated. This therapy has truly been an eye-opener for our family, showing us how much our non-verbal children understand and want to communicate. We are deeply grateful to Rashmi for her dedication and support.

We are incredibly grateful to Letters of Hope and especially Rashmi for the amazing progress our son, Ram, has made. When we first started services, we never imagined he already knew his alphabet or could recognize and spell his own name. Since joining, we have seen remarkable improvements in his body regulation, understanding, and communication. The biggest milestone for our family has been seeing Ram try to speak, repeat letters and words, understand what we say, and respond back to us. These may seem like small steps to others, but they are life changing for our family. Rashmi’s patience, dedication, and genuine passion for helping children shine through in every session. She truly believes in every child and never gives up. We are beyond thankful for everything she has done for Ram and wholeheartedly recommend Letters of hope to any family looking for caring, knowledgeable, and effective therapy.

Letters of Hope gave my son a voice—and it changed our lives. He began expressing his own goals, from swimming to horse riding to improving his health. This past year has been truly transformative for our entire family.
